Trailblazing musician and bandleader Max Pollak brings his signature blend of percussive dance, body percussion and vocals to the concert stage. A native of Austria and a leader in cross-cultural performance for more than 25 years, Pollak blends jazz, Afro-Caribbean traditions, and theatrical roots into a dynamic chamber music experience.

The Max Pollak Group is an international musical performance ensemble with global reach, that uses a truly original form of expression: simultaneously blending body drumming, with foot percussion and the voice. Through performance, and education we aim to promote mutual understanding, informed discourse, peaceful coexistence and exchange between people of diverse backgrounds and social strata.
The mission of Max Pollak Group is to create and perform original work:
1. that uses the body as a legitimate, versatile tool of musical expression within any instrumental or vocal ensemble.
2. that blends cultural influences, genres, and artistic disciplines in new and fascinating ways.
3. that engages and educates audiences by immersing them in a visceral, communal, cultural experience, utilizing the unlimited richness of sound, rhythm, movement, and texture that can be generated by the very first, original musical instrument, the human body.
